Objectives of research

HYPOTHESIS:
Influenza A infection enhance the invasiveness of Group A Streptococcus (GAS).
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
- Epidemiological description of the invasive GAS disease and its association with viral infections
in Australia.
SECONDARY OBJECTIVES
- To determine the impact of influenza A on GAS invasiveness and gene expression in vitro.
- To compare the impact of influenza A on GAS gene expression in colonised mice.
